My grandfather Fernando Albuquerque (1941-2022), the 5th Earl of Melo, with his grandfather Luís Francisco Estêvão Soares de Melo da Silva Breyner (1801 — 1865) , 1st Earl of Melo. Towards the end of his life my grandfather grew increasingly interested in exploring the life of his ancestor.
